Therefore, when we buy a bunch, whatever I don't get to first, he finishes off. A perfect match, right? And those really brown ones that neither of us get to eating? Well then make Banana Bread Donuts.
These Banana Bread Donuts are super moist, tasty, and topped with chocolate glaze. They are baked goodness. And sure they might not really be "donuts," or at least not the fried kind, but who cares. They taste amazing!
The perfect use of your overripe bananas! Top with chocolate glaze or even peanut butter frosting! Stir is chopped walnuts in the donut batter or sprinkle with sliced almonds, like I did.
Chocolate Glaze Recipe:
Combine 4 ounces chopped dark chocolate with 1/2 cup cream and 2 tablespoons of corn syrup in a medium sauce pan. Heat over medium-low heat until the cream starts to steam and chocolate melts. Remove from heat and whisk to combine. Add in a teaspoon of vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Stir to combine. Cool before use. Glaze may be used warm but be sure it has thickened.
