Happy April - or as I've been referring to it as "Book Release Month." What seemed so far away for so long, I can't believe we are finally here. In just a few short weeks, my book will be hitting the shelves of actual bookstores and into the hands and homes of real people (hopefully you!). (pst, if you pre-order your copy now, you'll received a FREE gift with purchase from Abrams Books).
This week was sort of the calm before the storm, although I really hesitate to call it that. Everything is finally coming together and all of our marketing efforts are beginning to pay off. Some of my colleagues in the blogging/cookbook industry starting receiving advanced copies and I am overwhelmed by the tremendous amount of love and support. Bloggers are so amazing, am I right? hehe
But really, the sun was actually out all week long and I was able to take some time to catch my breathe before the official release. My parents are back in town, and grandma has been helping babysit so I can arrange some new projects for after the book comes out (details coming soon!). Not only am I grateful for some time to myself to get some work done (and clean up the house), but I am thankful for my parents encouraging me to get out and enjoy my little family and beautiful city. I went on my first run of the year (is it really already April??) and was reminded just how gorgeous the sea wall is. My parents also took me and little man to lunch in West Van and to Ambleside Park. So pretty!!
On top of everything, my son was baptized on Easter Sunday. I have never been so blessed, grateful, and refreshed!
Lastly, Brett and I are off to a long-awaited date night and will be celebrating with his gaming studio tonight. Their video game, Marvel Battlegrounds for Disney Infinity was released last week! This is the first game Brett worked on after school - I could not be more proud of him!
Cheers to a wonderful weekend, everyone!
I have some work to do over the weekend for a couple other projects, but I really hope I have time to bake from Yossy's new book, Sweeter off the Vine. If you are need of some baking inspiration yourselves, then check out these amazing recipe from the week:
Betty’s stunning Grapefruit Cake with Earl Grey Crème Fraiche Buttercream
The most GORGEOUS hand-painted macarons by Naomi.
Aimee’s Black Sesame Ricotta Waffles with rose, pomegranate, and rhubarb – hello, Sunday brunch!
This Cardamom & Pistachio Carrot Cake with orange blossom and honey labneh is totally calling to me! Thanks Katie!
Forget everything! I’m cancelling all my plans in order to hunt down some rhubarb and make Tiffany’s Tea Cake with Spiced Rhubarb Cherry Jam
and Cynthia’s Lime Bars with Saffron - So pretty! And again, another reason why I need to find some time to bake from “Sweeter off the Vine” asap.
